Benefits of Semaglutide
Alongside lifestyle modifications, Semaglutide has the potential to support a 15-20% weight loss of total body weight, making it a valuable tool in managing diabetes and obesity. Semaglutide injections help support weight loss by reducing appetite and increasing feelings of fullness.
What is Semaglutide?
Semaglutide is a GLP-1 agonist prescription drug that can assist with the health barriers that often come with type 2 diabetes, insulin resistance, metabolic syndrome, and obesity. Semaglutide is administered through weekly injections. If you’d like to learn more about Semaglutide, two of our medical providers, Dr. Plaster and Nurse Practitioner Amber Foster, discuss Semaglutide in this episode of our podcast, “Between Two White Coats.”
How does Semaglutide work?
Semaglutide helps to release insulin only when necessary, making it an excellent medication for type 2 diabetics who are trying to lose weight without the risk of hypoglycemia. However, this medicine is also safe for weight loss for people who are not diabetic. Semaglutide injections aid in both appetite reduction and increasing feelings of fullness, making it easier for people to lose weight.
